The plot twist in Amoanimaa’s Era has excited everyone with glimpses of her making inroads and grasping what service to humanity means despite being cast down to earth from her high celestial position.
This excitement has warmed many hearts and given hope to thousands in Asempa village and beyond, save four women whose lives have been affected by the radiant goddess's presence.
These women, who had previously enjoyed their lives and their marriages, have all been left in dismay over Amoanimaa’s presence or the rippling effects it has had.
Let’s dive into the lives of these women as we throw light on their situations and how they seem to be finding ways to live with these new changes.
Nana Kweku Duah’s wife: The queen-mother of Asempa village is having sleepless nights because of Amoanimaa. The goddess has caught the eye of the regent in Asempa village and he is lavishing her with gifts. The queen-mother has cautioned Nana Kweku Duah over his advances towards Amoanimaa but he remains unperturbed. The chief of Asempa has graduated from secretly sending gifts to Amoanimaa to openly announcing in front of his chiefs the plan to marry the earth goddess. The regent however has a rival in the person of his own Gyaasehene, Nana Osei Bonsu who is also actively making moves to marry Amoanimaa.
Gyaasehene Osei Tutu Bonsu’s wife: The most jealous wife in this equation, without a doubt, is the wife of the Gyaasehene. From secretly following her husband to questioning his every move, Yaa ensures that her husband does not add another wife to his already huge family. In a bid to prevent Amoanimaa from becoming wife Number 3, Yaa would move heaven and earth and even get into an argument with Amoanimaa to get her to refuse the advances from the sub-chief of Asempa village. Yaa wants to enjoy her husband’s wealth with just one rival - after all, the fewer the merrier.
Richard Mensah’s wife: Rebecca had it all going for her until she decided to let her martial issue get the better of her and ruin it all with a desire to carry her own child. Amoanimaa’s ‘resurrection’ from her deep sleep caused Sakora to also move into action and the consequences started to spread. With the promise of being a mother in hindsight, Rebecca moved to get her husband to accept to be part of the Gye Nyame Lodge. This decision however came at a cost as the once-affluent couple has been reduced to rags. Now, she risks losing her marriage but is certain she can work her way back into her husband’s good books again.
Kwesi Manu’s wife: Adwoa, the trotro driver’s wife, was one of seeing her husband come home every evening to enjoy her meals and have a chat with him about the future of the kids which was always about fees and their wellbeing. This normal routine for her changed with the arrival of Sakora and Amoanimaa. The former is bent on getting Kwesi to join her lodge and would stop at nothing to see that happen. After resisting to heed Sakora’s invitation for days, Kwesi is put into a deep sleep and hospitalized. This causes Adwoa to take up the responsibility of nursing her husband back to life. She struggles to do this and gets help from her son, Essel, who gets into Sakora’s coven and gets the god to restore Kwesi Manu to life and full health again.
Will the paths of these wives cross in an ultimate plot twist as we go on? We can only find out on Amoanimaa’s Era which airs every weeknight at 8:00 pm.
